Salewa mes amis! Today, we have a special treat for all of my foodie friends out there. I’m talking about the delicious Tourteau! This dish is one that I grew up on, and one that I’ve always been excited to share with others. So, without further ado, here is my recipe for Tourteau:
Tourteau Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 large Tourteau crab
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 celery, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of tomato paste
- 1 cup of bread crumbs
- 1 cup of water
- Creole seasoning to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
- Clean the Tourteau crab and remove the meat.
- In a large skillet, heat up the olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the onion, celery, bell pepper, and garlic. Sauté for 4-6 minutes or until softened.
- Add the tomato paste and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Add the bread crumbs and stir until everything is combined.
- Add the water and let it cook for another 3-4 minutes.
- Season with Creole seasoning to taste.
- Place the Tourteau meat in a greased baking dish and pour the stuffing mixture over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
