Recette Rissole : Rissoles De Viande Et Retour Aux Origines Portugaises (rissois De Carne

Hey y’all, it’s time to get cooking with a delicious recipe straight from my Portuguese roots! Today, I’m sharing with you my favorite recipe for Rissoles de viande, also known as Rissois de carne.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef or pork
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a large frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until the onion is translucent.
  3. Add the ground beef or pork and cook until browned.
  4. Add the water, salt, and pepper and let simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. In a separate saucepan, melt the butter and add the flour, stirring constantly.
  6. Add the milk little by little, stirring constantly to ensure no lumps form.
  7. Add the nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
  8. Add the egg and the parsley to the meat mixture and mix well.
  9. Add the flour mixture to the meat mixture and mix well.
  10. Let the mixture cool for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  11. Preheat the oven to 400°F and grease a baking sheet.
  12. Form the mixture into small balls and place them on the baking sheet.
  13. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
