Faluches Recipe
Ingredients:
- 500g flour
- 7g yeast
- 300ml lukewarm water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions:
- Dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt and sugar.
- Add the dissolved yeast mixture, egg yolk, and olive oil to the bowl, and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 10 minutes or until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Cover the bowl with a damp cloth, and leave the dough to rise for 1 hour.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 8-10 equal pieces.
- Roll each piece into a ball, and place them onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Score the top of each dough ball with a sharp knife, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 200°C, and bake the faluches for 20-25 minutes or until they are golden brown.
- Once they are done, take them out of the oven and let them cool on a wire rack.
- Serve the faluches with your favourite toppings, and enjoy!
I hope you enjoyed learning about this recipe as much as I did! Go ahead and give it a try - I promise, your taste buds won’t be disappointed.
