  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt and sugar.
  3. Add the dissolved yeast mixture, egg yolk, and olive oil to the bowl, and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for 10 minutes or until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  5. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth, and leave the dough to rise for 1 hour.
  6. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 8-10 equal pieces.
  7. Roll each piece into a ball, and place them onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  8. Score the top of each dough ball with a sharp knife, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat your oven to 200°C, and bake the faluches for 20-25 minutes or until they are golden brown.
  10. Once they are done, take them out of the oven and let them cool on a wire rack.
  11. Serve the faluches with your favourite toppings, and enjoy!
