Ingredients
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 large egg yolks
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 teaspoons turbinado sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, egg yolks, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Divide the mixture evenly among four 4-ounce ramekins.
- Place the ramekins in a baking dish and fill the dish with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the ramekins.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the custards are set but still slightly jiggly in the centers.
- Remove the ramekins from the water bath and let them cool to room temperature.
- Once the custards are cool, sprinkle a teaspoon of turbinado sugar over the top of each one.
- Using a kitchen torch, melt the sugar until it is golden brown and bubbly.
- Allow the sugar to cool and harden for a minute or two.
- Serve and enjoy!
